Hi everyone, 

I am here to speak out about the 51/50 law for minors 

I myself have had to deal with this law and found it ridiculous,unreasonable and unhelpful. I felt trapped in the ER, was not allowed to leave the premises, saw two people code/die which a 16 year old should never have to see especially with such a fragile state of mind. My family was charged for a psychiatrist whom never showed up and charged for numerous other amenities that we did not receive.

People always say if you are feeling suicidal to go into a ER, the ER nurses did not do a single thing to help me,talked behind my back when i could hear them, taunted my family with threats to call the police and how they wanted me to die. My family and i have always had a bond so strong and unbreakable, I have respect for them and them for me. They hurt my family emotionally,beyond words. The hold did more harm than good and it breaks my heart how some teenagers who may not afford this visit,get put on hold and they cant afford it or get out of it because it is involuntary. 

No one should have to feel trapped,helpless and hopeless in a place full of help like hospitals.
