Jeremiah Rivers - A Reward for Information
The issue
On October 18th 2021, Jeremiah Rivers disappeared seemingly without a trace, despite being with SIX other men camping. He is the first born son and grandson to the Rivers family. He is a nephew, a brother, an uncle, a cousin. He is so much to so many in his family.
With a love of singing country, and playing football, and hunting. Jayo loved the outdoors. He is a human life very much like you and very much like me with hobbies and a love for his family as they have shown to love him.
It's been seven months. His family have been told very little and their treatment has been as you would expect - not good enough.
One thing is happening, the coroner is involved, when they asked a month ago they got a flat no. Just like when they asked about a reward, they also got told a flat no.
Why?
People get approved for rewards all the time? Jayo fits the circumstances for a suspicious disappearance, a reward could potentially help in this case. Yet, they get told no.
This petition is to call out how they've been treated throughout this entire process.
The Rivers family will tell their story, they will be completely transparent with how certain officials have had a complete lack of empathy, and have sidestepped their perfectly reasonable questions. There's been a complete disregard for cultural collaboration despite promises to do better.
Enough is enough.
Jeremiah Rivers and his whole entire family deserve better from the entire QLD police force and from the QLD government.
Please sign the petition and help the Rivers family's voices be heard - we are asking the police commissioner, the QLD government - whoever needs to step in and approve it for a $250, 000 reward for information leading to anything to do with Jeremiah River's disappearance.
In addition, we are asking for better treatment and cultural collaboration and in this day and age in regards to their missing boy, when their hearts are already breaking each day he is not found, should be shameful for those on the receiving end of such a request.
And yet, here we are -
To the QLD Police, QLD Police Commissioner, QLD government, local MPs, the coroner, on behalf of the Rivers family and Jeremiah Rivers, this petition is to show how many want a $250 000 reward into his disappearance. How many stand behind the Rivers family and call for better treatment as they go through this harrowing ordeal, open communication, honesty, transparency, respect, and cultural collaboration.
Rewards are there for a specific purpose and are used in missing person cases every day. Some missing person cases are even granted ONE MILLION DOLLAR rewards - let me ask the very real question, what makes one case, one HUMAN LIFE more deserving, or less, as the case may be, than another? Who decides? Because for the Rivers family it hardly matters, does it?
Seven months, eight months... Shouldn't every tool be available to find out every bit of information in relation to his disappearance be used?
Jeremiah deserves better.
