I cannot express the importance of this plea. East Charlotte has a very rare and wonderful opportunity to bring an enormous amount of work, growth and financial gain to our area and all of the state by completing the deal with Studio Charlotte in the previous Eastland Mall location. In order for this to become reality, NC needs to keep the current and future film jobs in NC - and not send them to GA or any other state. That means keeping the existing film incentives in place.

Many years ago, when Eastland Mall was new, Charlotte and East Charlotte specifically were booming. People came from all over and property values were on the rise. Following the decline of the mall, everyone was hit. Not only home owners, but all of East Charlotte. The entire area has suffered including surrounding businesses.

We have a small window of time to to support an incredible new project - Studio Charlotte. This incredible project will not only bring money, jobs and far reaching economic growth, it will bring tourism and a new status to NC in a way we have never been able to experience before. But in order for this to become reality, we need to keep the film industry here - in NC and continue the film incentives. The payoff is we - as a City, State and people - will benefit for many years to come. As this project grows, so will the much needed economic relief and long lasting sustained business growth.

We need you to support this for all of us. We need the jobs. We need the direct interjection of money that the film industry brings to our city. We want this, we need this and most of all we need our leaders to fight for this - for all of us. We do not need a leader that will make back door deals and send our opportunities away for personal gain. That is not what a true leader does. They do not lead by way of personal gain - they lead in an honorable way, by keeping the needs of the people they are supposed to care about first in their plans.

So, we ask you - will you please support us? Will you please support Studio Charlotte and keep the film incentives in place? Will you keep the NC film jobs in state and not send them elsewhere? If you care about NC progress, growth, stature and all of the people that effects, then you will say yes. You will support us. You will support this.

We elected you as a leader. Please, do the right thing - and lead us into progress, growth and financial stability. Lead us in this direction - the right direction - and keep us, the people of NC first. Help East Charlotte rebound. We deserve it. We are asking you to please do this for all of us. Please say yes, and show you care and you will support us by supporting all of this. After all, we elected you to help us, and this is the way to do just that.
