Puyallup Water Warriors & Redefine Tacoma

17.04.2018
"I'd like to say a special prayer for our relatives in the water today. All the ones that swim. Say a special prayer. Put a prayer up for them. Put the smoke up for them. They are under constant attack and they're under constant danger. That's basically what this whole case, this whole show is going to be around is our relatives, the Salmon. So I really want to put a prayer for the Salmon Nation to keep them protected and keep them safe and let them know we constantly are fighting to abide by our sacred promise to them to always protect and honor them. So I'd like to put a special prayer up to them and let them know we out here and we're holding up our part. We’re starting to wake up our relatives to that promise and reminding them of that. I’d like to say a special prayer for Turtle Island that you keep her safe and you keep her protected and you keep her green and beautiful for future generations to enjoy Creator" - Dakota Case, Puyallup Water Warrior.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TODAY!
Please take a few moments and say prayers to protect the Salmon. If you can, find a place by the water.
Then CALL Attorney General Bob Ferguson at his office: (253) 593-5243 or on the 24-hour automated comment line: 360-753-6200
Tell him to Honor The Treaties and have Washington State withdraw their complaint in the Salmon Culvert/Treaty Rights case.

Dakota is traveling today to Washington D.C. for the Supreme Court Hearing on this case. Tomorrow, April 18, The Supreme Court will hear arguments in Washington v. United States, a case pitting the State of Washington against the United States and 21 Northwest Native American Tribes. This case is an imminent danger to our endangered salmon and the Treaty Rights that have protected them. Washington State filed this case decades ago because the state did not want to pay to fix the culverts that have kept salmon from their spawning streams. The Supreme Court decision will affect the future of wild salmon and set modern day precedent regarding the scope of Treaty Rights and the protection of natural resources.
Now is the time to stand with the Tribes and honor their leadership and support their Treaty Rights. Treaty Rights are the law of the land and are used to protect the land and water for future generations.
Please forward this email to all friends, family, or groups who will help make calls today.
