Postpone Telangana TS EAMCET #PostponeTSEAMCET2020 #postponeTSEAMCET
The Issue
As of writing this petition, there are nearly 5.5 lakh people in India, and almost 13 thousand people in Telangana who have tested positive for COVID19, and these frightening numbers are only increasing at an alarming, exponential rate. In this current pandemic outbreak, social distancing and quarantining are the need of the hour.
The sheer scale of an exam such as TS EAMCET is antithetical to the idea of social distancing. Conducting the exams from 6-9 July, 2020 is endangering the health and safety of the 2.2 lakh students, their families and the thousands of staff members required to facilitate this exam.
Therefore, we request the Union government, the Telangana government, TSCHE and JNTU Hyderabad to take cognizance of this massive risk and postpone and adjourn the TS EAMCET 2020 till the pandemic situation has subsided.
