Happy New Year!

I apologize this update and article is from October.  I thought we could use some happy news, considering all the sadness and challenges in the world right now.   This little girl was successfully rehabilitated, and released back into the wild, thriving and prepared for hibernation.  We look forward to seeing her emerge in the spring!

As you are already aware, her brother's fate was very different.  Charlie was shot just 12 days after his release.  They were released in different areas that were chosen by the government and separated despite recommendations made by experienced rehabbers.  Perhaps a neutral advisory committee could have been the difference for Charlie.  A positive partnership between Environment and Parks, all rehabilitation facilities, and a solid ethics committee would be an amazing goal to achieve in 2020!
