Hi, I got a mail today from Etihad Airways,I was really surprised to find out that they have started to notice our campaign seriously, as they have started to lie to me blatantly about the ordeal that I faced that day on 14th December,2014 at Manchester Airport. Now they have done their investigation and it seems to me that they want to close my case as soon as possible. They are stating that,it was me who told them to throw my luggage in the bin bag! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The email from they is as follows: from: baggageclaims@etihad.ae to: svkr.888@gmail.com date: Mon, Feb 23, 2015 at 12:02 PM subject: Etihad Airways [RQID:300666] Etihad Airways: Ref 300666 23 February 2015 Dear Mr Doddi, Thank you for your response and patience whilst I have been investigating your claim. Whilst checking the World Tracer Baggage system for a mishandled baggage report, our investigations reveal your loss was not raised on arrival in Hyderabad. Your reservation reflects you returned back to Manchester from Hyderabad on 21 January 2015. The report from Manchester reflects you had checked one piece of baggage at check-in under baggage tag number EY597463 and proceeded to the boarding gate thereafter. On arrival at the boarding gate, you were in possession of an oversized bag with an excess weight of 33 kilos. The relevant charges were calculated and you were advised the amount of GBP600.00 would need to be paid to accept the baggage. The Duty Manager then informed you of your options. You could pay the applicable charges for the excess weight to allow you to check the baggage in to the hold, or allow the team to transfer your bag to MAPLC Lost and Found for storage, where there would be a charge of GBP5.00 per day for the service and finally, alternative arrangements could be made for Security to remove the baggage. The report reflects you made the decision to have the baggage removed, this was arranged and MAPLC Security attended the boarding gate. Prior to this, you removed all the excess baggage and boarded the aircraft with 7 kilos. MAPLC Security attended to remove and dispose the rucksack at your request. In respect to checked baggage, our free baggage allowance is shown on the E-ticket for the checked in baggage. The allowance maybe based on “Weight” or “Piece” concept or a combination of both according to the journey. As your travel originated from Manchester to Hyderabad via Abu Dhabi, the allowance will be based on the weight concept. Our baggage policy, allows a free baggage allowance of 30 kilos for our guests travelling in Economy Class and may carry one item as cabin baggage and not weighing more than 7 kilos. Hand luggage must not exceed maximum total dimensions of 111cm (40x50x21) For further information in respect to our baggage allowance and excess baggage charges, details can be found via the link below; http://www.etihad.com/en-ae/before-you-fly/baggage-information/baggage-allowances/ In respect to our findings Mr Doddi, your contents have been disposed of at your request and we will not be able to entertain your claim. I trust the above clarifies our position. Yours sincerely, Denise Chance Manager Baggage Claims Abu Dhabi ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ For this my reply was: From: svkr.888@gmail.com> to: baggageclaims@etihad.ae date: Mon, Feb 23, 2015 at 1:51 PM subject: Re: Etihad Airways [RQID:300666] Hi, Thanks for your reply. After going through your email, I want to let you know that your investigation was not correct: 1: I checked in Two piece of luggage and at Manchester Airport, not one,the other piece was a tripod which the lady at the check in counter told me to go to another section as the tripod was big.I went to another counter ,and checked in my tripod.he put a tag on it as well. 2:On arrival at the Hyderabad Airport,I was totally exhausted with the journey,as the journey time was around 19 hours, and mainly due to the worst ordeal at the Manchester Airport,I had severe headache.I went to the Airport staff baggage claim section but it was full with long line. So,I managed to get the phone number of the baggage lost and claim section of the Hyderabad Airport from one of the airport staff. After I reached my home I tried to report it several times for 4 days on Phone no:040-66606064 (Rajiv Gandhi International Airport-Hyderabad,India) ,but nobody answered the phone. Then I reported it to Etihad Airways on 19-12-2014. 3:I can assure you that the duty manager did not give me the option of allowing the team to transfer my bag to MAPLC Lost and Found for storage, where there would be a charge of GBP 5.00 per day for the service.Duty manager told me that the MAPLC Lost and Found for storage was closed and the only option was to destroy the item and bag for heath and safety reasons.I was the one who gave that option to the duty manager about sending my luggage to MAPLC Lost and Found,so that my friends can collect it next day.If that option was given to me that day at that situation ,I would have surely accepted it. I request you to again check with your duty manager,as I could see there has been a major error in your findings. I want to reiterate, the people at the boarding gate had only two options, get in the flight or get out.The way they conveyed me this options were more than worse,as i previously said like a mob! 4:I did not made the decision to make the baggage removed as I was not given the option of sending my luggage to MAPLC Lost and Found for storage, reason given to me was that it was closed. If they had given me that option,I would not waste my invaluable time,in making this case and following you to get my baggage. So,by this I could see that there has been a major errors in your findings.I politely reject your investigation in my claim. I would like to reiterate my position in this claim is :I demand proper action on the Etihad Airways staff who were involved throughout my ordeal on that day 14th December 2014 and I want my invaluable baggage to be sent to my home. I hope you will consider my request and properly investigate my case. Thanks, Raj.Doddi ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thanks for your continued support.I would not allow the Etihad Airways to get away with this.I strongly condemn this type of behavior from them. Kind Regards, Raj.Doddi
