The decision made by the Cabinet has been 'called in' by the other political parties- this means that there will be another meeting on Friday 31st October at 5pm at West Offices, with members from all political parties- where the decision will be reviewed. This committee will then make recommendations about what should happen next. We are very keen to have representation at this meeting from people who have used the service, or know family or friends who have, or from other organisations or professionals that can provide information to the committee about the impact that removing the holistic element of the service, changing the age remit and moving this altered provision to West Offices might have. If you feel you are able to speak up you will need to register to have time to speak at the meeting. You need to do this before 5pm on Thursday 30th October by phoning 01904 552062 or by emailing jill.pickering@york.gov.uk You have a maximum of 3 minutes to speak (you don't have to use all of 3 minutes!). Alternatively, if you don't want to speak- but do want to show your support, you can attend the meeting. You just need to be at West Offices at 5pm on Friday 31st. Thanks to all of you who have signed the petition- please of keep telling people about it- and encouraging them to sign up if they would like the decision to be reviewed. Also thanks to the academics at York University who have written to CYC recommending that the decision is reviewed. http://www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/11536428.21_academics_raise_fears_over_closure_of_Castlegate_centre/
