Today Governor J.B. Pritzker released his COVID policy on youth sports in Illinois.  In that policy, he classified hockey as a high risk.  Hockey players have full body uniforms and equipment and if necessary can wear full face shields on their helmets.  The state of Minnesota has been petitioned and lowered the risk level of hockey.  This petition is requesting Governor Pritzker do the same and lower the risk level of hockey in Illinois so that the thousands of kids in Illinois can start their seasons in September.
