Today's daily petition update is a bit late; it gets a bit later every day... Good to see the number here still ticking over, though.*
I wonder if there are people who click through to the site, look at these petition updates, and then leave again without signing?
Well, if that's you, here are a few (40 or so) reasons why you should just give in and sign the petition (this content was previously threaded on Twitter, so if you've seen it before and don't want to read it again, go look at this video of Izzy singing 'Baby Rann' instead - maybe one day he'll do a YouTube Live broadcast of a new song for us from this very studio):
Reasons to sign the #Izzyconcert2018 fan petition:
- to increase the chances of an Izzy concert actually ever happening
- because Izzy Stradlin gives great concerts
- Izzy never said he didn't want to perform anymore, did he??
- because we love Izzy’s solo music
- because we didn’t get to see our favourite AFD5 member on the NITL tour (and everyone else got to see theirs)
- because we didn't think NITL would ever happen, did we, and it did, so what's so crazy about hoping for an Izzy concert?
- because Izzy’s written a lot of new music and we’d love to hear some of it
- to remind Izzy that we’re all here, waiting...
- because it would make our Izzy fan friends happy
- so that some of Izzy’s coolness might rub off on us
- because there’s a chance this petition might actually work..
- because Izzy concerts don’t happen that often; this would be a privilege to see/attend
- because this petition is not about GNR, it's just about Izzy
- for some new Izzy photos/videos
- to get inspiration from Izzy’s latest style and showtime outfits
- to show solidarity with the Izzy fan community
- as a badge of honour
- just because I want to, ok
- because I like the wording of the petition
- so that in years to come I can say I did that; I was part of that bit of Izzy history
- because Izzy fans are starved
- because it’s been 18 years since a proper Izzy concert, man
- because we don’t live forever and I ain’t never seen Izzy play live yet
- because fans aren’t asking for the world, just anything that Mr Izzy might be ok with doing
- because maybe Izzy could be ready to come back..?
- because he hasn’t been seen on stage since 2012
- because if this works, it could, it might, it may, lead to bigger better things... like.. a.. tour!!!
- because signing fan petitions is what fans do
- because signing doesn’t cost me anything
- because it’s only a few more to get to 1000*
- because even just Izzy and his guitar would be a great show
- as a tribute to Chalo, and the other Ju Jus: Jimmy and Rick
- because imagine if we got a new Izzy album out of that show!
- because I’ve bought all the albums & learned all the words, all that’s left is to see Izzy live
- in case only people who sign (and comment) get access to tickets
- because there aren’t many ways to feedback our love to Izzy
- because Izzy might play some reggae
- because most of Izzy’s songs have never been played live
- to encourage someone somewhere to start a Ju Ju Hounds tribute band at last
- there’s nothing to lose and so much to (possibly) gain
- so I can share the petition link too
