Over the last few months you and thousands of other supporters have added your voice to our call on governments to draft a new United Nations (UN) convention on the human rights of older people.  

On 13th August 2024 governments in the UN agreed that there are gaps in international human rights laws with respect to older people’s rights and asked relevant UN bodies to take action in addressing these.

One of the options that governments identified for addressing these gaps was a new UN convention!

This is an important milestone for our campaign. Thank you for supporting our cause and strengthening our voice.

We are now urging governments to take action in the UN Human Rights Council where we believe that a UN convention should be drafted.

Today, on 1st October, to mark the International Day of Older Persons we want to rally support for this call. How can you help with this?
