UPDATE* Let’s get rid of Antlerless deer days!

UPDATE* Let’s get rid of Antlerless deer days!
The Issue
UPDATE AT THE BOTTOM!!
With the previous few hunting seasons being under the new state bag limit, many of us find issue with only being allowed to harvest two “Antlerless” whitetails during the archery and assigned antlerless deer days. This greatly limits the ability for hunters across the state to provide venison for their families, without having to harvest immature antlered whitetails throughout the rest of the hunting season. The goal of this campaign is to allow hunters to harvest their two antlerless deer at anytime throughout any of the deer seasons, this not only allows them a greater opportunity to harvest their allowed (Two) antlerless deer, but also gives those hunters the ability to pass on younger antlered deer creating an opportunity for those deer to get larger not only antlers but bodies, meaning more venison.
Update:
But first a reminder: This petition is a way for the voices of the majority that can’t make it to a Commission meeting to be heard.
Alright folks! I hoped for input and there was an abundance of it! Many of you raised valid arguments and a large sum of you agreed with my original position. In all honesty, here is where I stand! This petition was started due to a group of people close to me wanting change in our inability to harvest antler-less deer during the general gun seasons(obviously there are “DOE DAYS” in general gun… keep your comments).
So with that said here is the updated petition. 99%(Approx.) of persons involved in this petition have one goal in mind, an update from the commission allowing the harvest for antler-less deer. So this petition is just that, a starting point to allow the commission to know that the stakeholders are wanting a change, each DMU in FL is different, whether it be deer population, hunter population, harvest rates, peek rut times or geographic areas. So, as designed by the commission in the first place the idea of the entire state being able to go to a full season length harvest of does seems unlikely. The best we can hope for is to get enough signatures to make this pertinent to the decision makers. Let’s be rid of Antler-less deer days, and work with the Commission to discover the best way to allow greater opportunity (“a higher success rate”) throughout the season. With deer depredation permits, Antler-less deer permits and road kills mixed in it’s understandable that the Commission could worry about a declining deer population. These are obstacles that don’t seem to be going anywhere, that are quite the quandary. Either way please don’t jump ship, in fact help spread the world. We hope to better the hunting opportunities in FL while growing the already sustainable population.
Also, for the persons wondering about, “Does science back up the fact that if a buck gets older he’ll get bigger?” Google anything about whitetail bucks.
LET THEM GO!!! LET THEM GROW!!!
