In February 2021 I was served a notice to quit during a pandemic eviction ban. It was illegal.
At the same time, I was awaiting cancer results and preparing for surgery due to confirmed spread of endometriosis.
There was no emergency housing.
No state safety net.
Four years on the housing list by then.
I was placed in unsafe accommodation with mould and rats.
Then assaulted in my own home.
While living out of boxes, I made a decision: I would start telling my story.
Bit by bit I began giving media interviews until I was strong enough to stand publicly and demand change.
Housing insecurity and healthcare delays are not separate issues. They intersect. They retraumatise. They endanger lives.
That is why this petition matters.
We cannot continue to treat families in crisis as numbers.
We cannot continue to delay specialist care for women.
