🇮🇪 CALL IT OUT: Endometriosis Care in Ireland Needs Real Change

Every woman and girl in Ireland has been taught to cope with pain.

To wait.

To be quiet.

To push through.

But endometriosis is not just a medical issue — it’s a national issue.

It affects our daughters, sisters, friends, colleagues, and students.

And it’s time for Ireland to call it out.

We are coming together for one day — united — to ask for real, specialist endometriosis care in Ireland.

This event is for:

• Women and girls living with endometriosis

• Those still seeking diagnosis

• Parents, partners, and friends who support them

• Students who want to stand up for their futures

• Anyone who believes women deserve timely, specialist healthcare in their own country

If you have endometriosis — or you love someone who does —

your presence matters.

This is not disruption.

It is visibility.

It is dignity.

It is a call for change.

⚖️ What We’re Asking For

There is a proven, realistic solution already being used in Ireland for other chronic conditions:

The Visiting Consultant Rotation Model (VCRM).

This model means:

✅ Skilled excision surgeons rotate into Irish hospitals

✅ Women receive treatment here at home

✅ Irish surgeons are upskilled in real time

✅ Waiting lists go down

✅ We stop exporting women for healthcare

This is not radical.

Not new.

Just not applied to endometriosis — yet.

🕰️ Why This Matters Now

The new Endometriosis Specialist and Advanced Imaging Scheme (ESAIS) can remain as an interim pathway,

but under the Women’s Health Framework, the plan to bring in experienced excision surgeons is set for two years from now.

Women cannot wait another two years.

The Visiting Consultant Rotation Model can begin now, working alongside ESAIS,

so that treatment happens here — while Irish teams are trained and supported.
