Reverse the IOW Council's decision to implement parking charges at Gurnard.

Reverse the IOW Council's decision to implement parking charges at Gurnard.
The Issue
The purpose of this petition is to persuade the Isle of Wight Council to review the decision in respect of implementing parking charges on Prince’s Esplanade, from Gurnard to Cowes. This decision will severely impact upon residents, frequent visitors, existing hospitality businesses & sailings clubs. Furthermore, the decision to implement parking charges isn’t supported by a positive financial argument, but is motivated by a policy to ensure uniform parking charges across the island. This policy is deeply flawed and offers no quantifiable benefits to island tax payers or Gurnard & Cowes residents and must be reviewed. As a minimum the I.O.W. Council must provide concessions to residents, the Gurnard Sailing Club and patrons of pubs, cafes and wine bars in the area to ensure potential visitors are not disincentivized from enjoying all that Gurnard & Cowes has to offer.
