Abas Deris was arrested in a peaceful demonstration in 2019 and is now condemned to execution. He was tortured into doing a forced TV confession to say that he'd shot at guards in the street. His confession was used to condemn him to execution. Abas is a worker who has three children (6, 14 and 16 years old). Because of the stress and hardship his wife went through during his arrest, she died while he was under torture.
