The Issue

Live music is part of who we are in Ireland. The All Ireland final. Electric Picnic. A night at your local theater.

For too many Irish fans the experience of actually getting is a nightmare with dynamic pricing, unfair resale and extortionate pricing for "VIP" seating. Ticketmaster and a small number of promoters control almost every major event in this country. They set the prices and answer to nobody.

When tickets were physical you owned what you paid for. Now with digital tickets that ownership is gone. They have your money and they just don't care any more. When you can't attend an event you are left with nothing. No recourse, no refund and no right to resell.

Ireland has some of the toughest anti-touting laws in Europe but in practise we have no say in what we can to do with the tickets we buy. The lack of competition allows promoters to charge whatever fee they want and to stop resale on whim.

**Our Goal**

We demand a fairer and more transparent ticketing process in Ireland. By signing this petition, you will help us urge relevant authorities to investigate these monopolies and enforce regulations ensuring:

1. Digital Ownership: Irish people deserve the right to own what they purchase. This includes the ability to resell tickets at will.

2. Transparency in Pricing: In line with the Sale of Tickets Act 2021, we need ticket pricing to be completely transparent. We should know when and why we are being charged inflated amounts for our tickets. This pricing needs to be provided freely by the ticketing companies working in Ireland.

3. Increased Competition: Encourage a competitive marketplace for ticket sales that benefits performers and fans alike. Investigate the existing monopolies and allow room for competition.

Irish fans have had enough. The Oasis scandal showed the whole country what we already knew. This system is broken and nobody is fixing it. It's time for us to force the ticketing industry to prioritize Irish people.

Join us in directly challenging the Irish government to make a change.
