There is a disconnect between Irish government rhetoric around school choice and the reality faced by new schools.

Our Story: Our national school has been in temporary accommodation for the last 7 years; Malahide Portmarnock Educate Together (MPETNS) opened in 2014. Our school was created to provide choice for schooling to the people of Malahide / Portmarnock.

The school remains in temporary accommodation on the edge of our catchment area and traffic problems and road safety issues increase each year.

Equal Rights: Our local Community Schools have so far not added us to their list of feeder / local schools for admissions due to our temporary location. This is fast becoming an urgent issue as our first students will be entering the admission process within the coming months.

Our children should be entitled to the same chance of attending their local community secondary education as our neighbours children, who attend Christian schools, are.

What do we want? 1) A permanent school to be built in Malahide as promised for MPETNS  2) The same access, to our local second level community schools, as others attending local Christian primary schools

Please consider signing our petition to show our government (and our schools) that prejudice towards our children will not be accepted by our community.
