Thank you to everyone who has signed their support for this petition so far, over 1600 supporters in one week is huge! However, the battle is far from over.
We need more support, more shares, and more comments (especially on the petition page) for this pledge to get the attention of the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada Minister, Ahmed Hussen. In particular, if anyone knows contacts or journalists at large and small media outlets and could share or mention this story to them; that would benefit our cause immensely.
The Honourable Minister Ahmed Hussen has the ability to acknowledge our petition and overturn the officer's decision who rejected Husam for Permanent Residency in Canada. Once again, Husam was rejected on the basis that the single officer was not convinced that he had acquired at least one year of skilled work experience in this country. Husam has lived here for more than quadruple the minimum residency requirement for Permanent Residency and has worked in Canada for at least 6 years in various skilled work positions. If you've met Husam, you'd know that he speaks English as good as any Canadian and as if it's his first language.
There's no good reason why Husam should not be granted his Permanent Residency in the place he's lived, studied, worked, and started a business in, for the past 10 years. All your signatures, comments, and shares, are going in front of the Minister and will have an affect on Husam's status in Canada.
We will keep you updated on the status of the appeal and continue to share updates through this platform. Wishing you all a wonderful holiday and a Merry Christmas!
