We are Iranian applicants who have applied for a Canadian work permit (Spouse Open & close categories) in recent months to join our families or assume a job position in Canada.

In February 2022, you announced that the processing time for work permit applications would be accelerated. The weekly review of processing time on the IRCC website shows that, as you promised, it has happened for the citizens of almost all countries.

But unfortunately, it seems that this acceleration has not been applied to applicants from Iran, and even processing time has soared to 38 weeks recently.

This is while for Turkish applicants whose applications (like Iranians) are processed in the Canadian Visa office in Ankara, this period is 5 weeks and for citizens of other neighboring countries of Iran is between 2 to 8 weeks.

It has been months that all of us are suffering from an unclear waiting for joining our beloved families or assuming a job position that we have worked so hard to obtain in Canada. 

Therefore, we will be very grateful if you address this issue and expedite the processing time for work permit applicants from Iran as well.
