Our academic system's credibility is under attack and as a concerned citizen, I can no longer stay silent. Policymakers in our country heavily rely on non-biased research to form legislation and public policy that directly affects our public health. However, this system is being compromised by institutions like the National Pork Board with its funding of promotional research.

To preserve the integrity of our academic system and ensure that research produced in these institutions remains relevant, accurate and above all, unbiased, we need to involve oversight.

Therefore, we request a new institutional body to oversee these studies, as they affect us all by influencing our public health.
