Donald Trump has breached the trust vested in him as President of the United States. It is personal for me because I believe that he has put his self-interest before his duty to the nation. He has committed acts which many, including myself, consider treasonous; leveraging his position to enrich himself and his family at the expense of American integrity and security.

The U.S. Constitution gives Congress the power and responsibility to intervene when the President no longer serves the public good. Article II, Section 4 clearly states that the President can be impeached and removed from office upon committing "Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors." We must hold our leaders accountable to the law and the ethical standards expected of such a prestigious office.

Take his dealings with foreign entities, for example. Reports have surfaced about Trump's engagement with foreign powers to benefit his personal business interests. This conflict of interest fundamentally undermines his ability to act in the best interests of the United States. Moreover, his refusal to fully divest from his businesses while in office is a blatant disregard for the Emoluments Clause, which aims to prevent personal gain from foreign governments or any governmental entity.

The repercussions of these actions are further aggravated by his continuous spread of misinformation and divisive rhetoric, which destabilizes the democratic fabric of the country. By disregarding scientific evidence and expert advice during critical moments, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, Trump has compromised public health and safety, prioritizing political gains over the welfare of American citizens.

Our democracy is at stake. It's time for Congressional leaders to exercise their constitutional duties to preserve the integrity of the presidency and protect the nation's values. This petition demands Congress to take immediate action based on constitutional grounds to remove Donald Trump from office.
