North Brunswick/New Brunswick Animal Control Officers must be removed. 

As a board member for an animal nonprofit actively involved in North Brunswick and the county, I am constantly fielding calls, emails, and in-person inquiries about two issues: lost pets and abuse of authority/dereliction of duty by Animal Control Officers.

I have encountered these Animal Control Officers abusing their authority, giving orders under the color of law, taking punitive and illegal actions without proper cause, proper investigations, or proper evidence.

These issues are not isolated incidents.

Nonprofits tirelessly fill the service gaps that residents care about.My organization has located and returned more pets the North Brunswick Animal Control itself. My organization has done more for feral feline population control.  

This petition seeks to:

1. Investigate and hold to account Animal Control Officers abusing their authority 
2. Establish coordinated and intentional partnerships with organizations that fill the service gaps Animal Control cannot fill.
