Investigation into Lalitha Health Care for Organ Harvesting

Investigation into Lalitha Health Care for Organ Harvesting

The Issue

I am seeking justice as I have been a victim of organ harvesting at the hands of Watoto (Uganda) Lalitha Health Care (Bangaluru) and Fortis Hospital (New Delhi).

In 2014, I was approached by Watoto Church who promised to pay my tuition and look after my family if I traveled to India to donate my kidney. This donation was for Kabuye Williams, I believed I was doing a noble thing to save this 16 year old boy’s life.

However, I was deceived into signing an MOU (Memorandum of understanding).

In the December, I discovered that this donation would be illegal under Indian legislation but they already had forged a family tree.

I attempted to withdraw upon discovering this but was held against my will and had all my personal documents taken from me.

The procedure took place without my consent and was conducted negligently. I experienced sever pain following the operation and was in hospital until April when it was estimated I would return in February. When I returned, I was picked up by Watoto Church. I confronted them and demanded the money I was promised, it was denied.

This meant I had no money for food, medication or fresh water. I was ignored by Watoto. My condition worsened so I sought medical advise where it was found that my insides were rotting and had permanent nerve damage caused by Lalitha Health Care. Threats from Watoto were made to the hospital in Uganda and I was refused medical care.

Due to my condition, I was unable to work. I wrote to the Ugandan Human Rights Commission, Watoto was called upon but did not appear. I went to Watoto headquarters and I was threatened by the lawyers that I would face dire consequences if I continued to peruse.

This petition is to support my case to the Indian Government. Recently, I was attacked in Uganda in relation to my legal pursuit against Watoto. I am pleading to the Government and the people of India to help me seek asylum as my life is in danger. I fear my family will be at risk and these organisations will continue to ruin people’s lives.

I hope to stop this exploitation by sharing my story and bringing awareness to the severity of the corruption in these organisations
