The Issue

To: The UK Home Office and HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC)
We, the undersigned, call for an immediate and thorough investigation into the immigration status and financial activities of Akbar Mazinani, a business owner residing in Leeds, UK.
It has been brought to public attention that Mr. Mazinani may have obtained his British residency/citizenship through Asylum Fraud. While claiming asylum based on "religious persecution" (Christianity), he has reportedly traveled back to Iran—the very country he claimed was a threat to his life. Furthermore, he openly expresses support for the Islamic Republic of Iran, a regime known for transnational repression and threats to UK national security.
Our concerns include:
1. Immigration Fraud: Traveling to the country of origin after claiming asylum is a direct violation of UK refugee status rules and suggests a fraudulent claim.
2. Tax Evasion: Reports indicate that his business in Leeds operates on a "cash-only" basis to evade taxes, undermining the UK economy.
3. National Security: Publicly supporting a hostile foreign regime while living under protected status in the UK poses a risk to the Iranian diaspora and local community security.
We urge the Home Office to review his right to remain and the HMRC to audit his financial records. The UK should not be a safe haven for those who exploit its generosity while supporting the very systems of oppression they claimed to flee.
Sign this petition to demand accountability and protect the integrity of the UK’s asylum system.
