We have hit a breaking point. As of this afternoon, Monmouth County is reeling from its second blizzard of the season. A state of emergency has been declared for all 21 counties in New Jersey, and the reality on the ground in our community is dire.

The Numbers You Need to Know:

• Power Outages: Over 24,000 homes and businesses in Monmouth County are currently without electricity. This makes our county one of the hardest-hit areas in the entire state. Across New Jersey, more than 128,000 residents are waiting in the dark as wind gusts up to 60 mph continue to hammer the grid.

• Natural Gas & Heat: While widespread gas utility failures are less common than electrical outages, thousands are effectively without heat because their furnaces require electricity to ignite and circulate air. For many, "no power" means "no heat" during sub-freezing temperatures.

• Restoration Delay: Utility providers like JCP&L are warning that because of the massive snowfall (up to 2 feet in some areas) and dangerous winds, many in Monmouth County may not see their power restored until Wednesday, February 25th.

We Are One Step Away

Every single one of us is one snapped branch or one blown transformer away from being in the cold and dark. This isn't just about a storm; it's about the failure of our leadership to protect our basic needs and infrastructure.

Our Demand is Clear:

No one should be elected—or re-elected—unless they truly understand the struggle of the people they represent. We need leaders who live in our tax brackets and feel the same cold we do when the lights go out. We are done with "business as usual" while we freeze in our own homes.

What You Can Do Now:

1. Sign this petition if you are tired of being ignored.

2. Share this update with everyone you know in Monmouth County. We need to reach 500 signatures to make sure the "powers that be" can no longer look the other way.

We are all in this together, but we shouldn't have to be in the dark.
