The Issue: Profit Over People
We are constantly asked to re-elect the same individuals, yet the issues in our community only grow while their bank accounts do the same. In Asbury Park, leadership takes bows for "redevelopment," but the "figure" they ignore is the 20% drop in the Black population since 2010. We are seeing a "plummet" in diversity while taxes rise and affordability vanishes.
The Conflict: Paying Themselves During Crisis
While everyday neighbors face shutdowns and crises, Members of Congress and high-level officials continue to receive their paychecks even when the government stops working for us. This is a clear conflict of interest. They have secured their own wealth while failing to secure our housing or our future.
The Solution: Put the Community on the Ballot
Why are we re-electing people to manage a crisis they helped create? It is time to stop looking at career politicians and start looking at our own community members.
• Stop the Cycle: We must stop voting for those who prioritize luxury condos over long-term residents.
• New Leadership: We need to start adding grassroots community leaders—people who actually live these issues—directly onto our local ballots.
• Accountability First: If they can't show "receipts" for how they’ve helped the original population stay in their homes, they don’t deserve another term.
