Investigate systemic failures in NHS gynaecology care putting women's lives at risk

The Issue

In recent years, I have personally experienced first-hand the distressing systemic failures in gynaecology care within the NHS.

I've appealed to PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Service), NHS managers, and even my local MP.

Despite all this, I continue to face last-minute cancellations, administrative chaos, and the exhausting reality of having to chase updates about my own health.

Then I discovered something even more alarming: my cancelled procedures were being recorded in NHS systems as completed. False appointments were being created to meet Service Level Agreement targets, distorting my medical records and masking the true state of women's healthcare in this country.

I'm not alone. Thousands of women across the UK are experiencing the same systemic failures.

What's happening:

Women are reporting procedures cancelled at the last minute - sometimes repeatedly - with no alternative dates offered. We're forced to chase appointments, test results, and referrals that should happen automatically.

Most disturbingly, false entries are being added to NHS systems to artificially meet performance targets, creating a misleading picture of care quality while real women suffer the consequences.

The human cost:

These delays aren't just frustrating, they're dangerous. Conditions like endometriosis and fibroids worsen while we wait. Pain becomes unbearable. Treatment windows close. In the worst cases, lives are at risk.

What needs to happen:

We're calling on the government to launch an independent public inquiry into NHS gynaecology services to:

  • Investigate the extent of record falsification and its impact on patient care
  • Examine how administrative failures are delaying diagnosis and treatment
  • Hold decision-makers accountable for these systemic inadequacies
  • Implement urgent reforms to ensure safe, timely care for all women

Sign this petition to demand justice and compel an influential investigation into the gynaecology services within the NHS.

Together, we can work to rebuild trust and ensure that every woman receives the respectful and competent care she deserves.
