As parents in Indiana, PA, we are deeply concerned about the safety of our children. It is crucial that every child is in a safe environment free of predators. There have been conversation amongst the community concerning accusations (if you have a daughter, let’s just say you wouldn’t want her near him kind of accusations) about the dismissal (a coordinated resignation with administrators to avoid bad publicity for school at the time - essentially a bailout for him to not receive charges) of our newly elected school director, Doug Steve, from our local school.   There has also been talk of the alleged strangling a child this past summer at a little league game (the family supposedly started charges against the alleged but moved out of state and apparently did not pursue). This information has raised serious concerns among us about his suitability for this important role.

We believe it is imperative to have transparency regarding such matters that directly impact our children's welfare. Therefore, we urge the relevant authorities and administration to investigate Doug Steve's past dismissal/resignation and provide documentation explaining the reasons behind it and any disciplinary actions of that career revealed.

If these investigations reveal any misconduct or actions that put our children at risk, we demand immediate action. In such a case, Doug Steve should be removed from his position on the board and replaced with someone who can ensure our children's safety and well-being.

We understand that everyone deserves due process; however, given the nature of this situation involving potential risks to minors' safety within an educational setting - swift action is necessary.  We also understand that currently these accusations are through word of mouth and therefore not considered substantial at this time, however, due to the content provided in the accusations, we feel that a THOROUGH investigation is least the district and authorities can provide to ease parents in knowing for certain their child is safe.
