The Issue

As a resident of Lebanon, I am deeply concerned about how our tax dollars are being handled. Recently, the City of Lebanon's Economic Developer allegedly spent a staggering $30,000 on office furniture that was unneeded, ignoring protocols on the disposal of public property and overtly disregarding state laws. This misuse of funds and potential violation of state regulations call for immediate attention and accountability.

The allegations are troubling and suggest unethical behavior and possible corruption at the local government level. According to relevant sources, the furniture purchase was executed without proper need assessment or public approval, raising questions about transparency and fiduciary responsibility. Furthermore, the decision to proceed with such an expenditure appears to have involved intentionally overbudgeting, which is a direct affront to the taxpayers of Lebanon.

Our city is in need of funds for critical community programs, infrastructure improvements, and other public services that directly benefit the residents. It is disheartening to see our hard-earned money being squandered on superfluous office luxuries when it could be put to much better use.

The Mayor of Lebanon has the power to act. We call on the Mayor to immediately terminate the Economic Developer involved in this mismanagement of public funds. Additionally, we urge the District Attorney of Wilson County to initiate a comprehensive investigation into this matter to hold all parties accountable and ensure justice is served. Our community demands transparency and integrity from our public officials.

Please sign this petition to demand accountability, protect our local resources, and ensure that our tax dollars are directed towards initiatives that truly benefit the people of Lebanon. Your signature can help bring about the needed change and restore trust in our local government. Together, we can advocate for a better future for our community.
