Investigate EE: Lies told to sell pre-order contracts they cannot fulfil.
The Issue
The unavailability is not the problem. The misrepresentation is.
Thousands of customers are actively being misinformed by EE in order to win business and sign customers up to 24/36 month contracts, under terms and promises they cannot meet, and I believe they are either doing so purposefully, or negligently.
Most of us would have appreciated the honesty, but EE knows that the honesty would have resulted in customers shopping elsewhere.
This falls under the Misrepresentation Act, and is against the law.
I say we request that Trading Standards investigate EEs pre-order practice, in order to find out whether it is fit for purpose.
The only time companies improve their services, is when they believe it will be financially beneficial, individually we cannot do much, but together, maybe EE will take notice and realise that they must do better.
Prices continue to go up, whilst services continue to get worse. Year on year the same thing happens.
Hopefully if enough people complain together, we will be heard and EE will make efforts to meet the expectations they set when requesting we sign our name on the dotted line.
Thank you
UPDATE: Based on all your comments on EEs forum... It appears that EE are struggling to get stock from Apple. Claiming it is Apples fault. Remember, we are not petitioning because we had to wait, we know these phones sell out like hotcakes, often in minutes, its the false expectations set before renewing or signing a new contract and the overall poor service experienced with pre-orders, where they expect us to sign a contract under inaccurate information. This is also not a complaint against the service representatives at EE, they are caught between customers and the poor system EE have for these scenarios.
