As a group personally affected by the actions of Dave McDermott, president of the Hamburg Hawks, we must speak out. Our youth hockey team faced multiple threats and even had our bank account unjustly frozen and subsequently shut down under his questionable leadership. We believe this is indicative of a larger pattern of unethical conducts that warrant immediate investigation. It is crucial to note that a youth sports organization should prioritize fairness, transparency, and the welfare of its young players, but this has not been our experience under McDermott's leadership. His continued involvement threatens not just our team but also the integrity of the Hamburg Hawks as a whole. Therefore, we urge the relevant authorities and the board of the Hamburg Hawks to initiate a thorough investigation into Dave McDermott's conduct and, if appropriate, relieve him from his duties as president.
