Our children's health, safety, and wellbeing are non-negotiable. As part of the Nulkaba community, I have become increasingly troubled by reports relating to Little Zak’s Nulkaba. Concerns have been raised about supervision levels, the duty of care, and the educator-to-child ratio, critical areas that directly impact the quality of care our children receive daily.

Despite being entrusted with our most precious resource—our children—I am deeply concerned about the standards of care and how our children's daily needs are being met. Parents and guardians alike have expressed significant discontent over management practices, a lack of accountability, and how concerns or complaints are addressed (or not) at Little Zak’s.

Childcare is meant to be a safe haven, a nurturing place for development, but persistent issues such as staff turnover and possible non-compliance with childcare regulations suggest a serious breakdown in delivering the best standards of care. We must ensure that Little Zak’s adheres to the policies of the National Quality Framework standards and meets its obligations toward the children and families who depend on it.

The frequent turnover of staff not only disrupts the stability our children need but also raises questions about working conditions and whether this attrition is indicative of deeper systemic issues within the institution.

This cannot continue. We cannot stay silent. We need a comprehensive review and investigation into these practices by the regulatory body responsible for childcare services to ensure transparency and improvement where necessary.
