Investigate Alaskan Trooper David Bozeman for Alleged Misconduct and Rights Violations
The Issue
Hi my name is Josef Cranley, and I am petitioning to have the conduct of Trooper David Bozeman and his peers investigated for Misconduct. My sister in- law is a resident of the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska, I am writing this petition on her behalf out of my personal experience with State and Federal Law Enforcement, as well as The Department of Public Safety, Standards, and Testing, and The United States Constitution in regards to Trooper David Bozeman (PIN:DWB2) as well as The Alaska State Troopers.
In the Fall of 2023 She was given a DUI by Trooper Bozeman, during which her Constitutional Rights were violated, to include unlawful search and seizure, while she was lied to and lead repeatedly by Trooper Bozeman on audio record, most noteably the Trooper stated he had to take evasive action to avoid a head on collision with her automobile, when in reality he was following her vehicle for an extended period of time. In addition the official report appears to be re-used from a previous arrest. This is a "one size fits all, copy and paste" approach to justice, and sets a dangerous precedent that should not be tolerated by a free and peaceable people.
This incident has led me to believe that there may be a pattern of malicious intent, representing falsehoods, failing to operate cameras, both in vehicle and on person, as well as misconduct in his actions and in the actions of Alaskan State Troopers pertaining to their tactics for generating revenue for the bankrupt State of Alaska using DUI charges.
To add additional cause for concern, the accuracy of the station breathalyzer used during the incident is under scrutiny considering the need to order potassium dichromate, a chemical used in the machine that is vital to the test, was a topic of discussion on the recording between the Officer Manning the station and the Arresting Officer.
This is not just her story. There are others who have had similar experiences with Trooper Bozeman and The Alaska State Troopers, raising questions about their training, professional conduct and respect for citizens' rights. It is crucial to ensure that those entrusted with maintaining law and order uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity that we the people set for them.
Currently only 5% of DUI cases are overturned in Alaska as miscarriages of Justice, as opposed to a 41% national average according to Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
In light of these concerns, we are calling on the Department of Justice and relevant State authorities to launch an investigation into Officer David Bozeman's conduct and the conduct of All Alaska State Trooper Stations. We believe this is necessary to maintain public trust in our law enforcement agencies, to protect citizens' rights, and ensure justice prevails.
We urge you to sign this petition if you believe in fair treatment under The Constitution for all citizens, regardless of their circumstances or location. Your signature can make a difference in ensuring accountability within the Law Enforcement Community.
Together we can work toward DUI reform that benefits all the people of Alaska.
