However, my aspirations are being stifled by the lack of an efficient international payment method in our country. Countless opportunities have slipped through my fingers because potential clients from other countries find it impossible to send me payments for my services.

This is not just my story; it's the story of many ambitious individuals in Sri Lanka who are losing out on valuable opportunities due to this limitation. The absence of major payment platforms like PayPal is hampering our growth and restricting us from fully participating in the global digital economy.

According to Statista, there were 377 million PayPal users worldwide as of the second quarter of 2021. This vast user base represents countless potential customers and clients that we are unable to reach due to this unfortunate situation.

By introducing PayPal or similar international payment methods in Sri Lanka, we can unlock new economic opportunities and foster entrepreneurship among our talented youth. It will also significantly ease transactions for those who rely on foreign remittances or wish to purchase goods from overseas.

We urge relevant authorities and financial institutions in Sri Lanka, along with international bodies such as PayPal, to take immediate action on this matter. Let's enable more people like me - aspiring entrepreneurs - realize their dreams without being hindered by geographical boundaries or outdated financial systems.
