In the past, I cherished the opportunity to visit my family in Poland, even if it was just for a weekend. Living in the East Midlands, I could easily catch a flight, spend precious time with my loved ones, and return without much hassle. Sadly, this is no longer the case as flight options have dwindled down and become increasingly costly. I'm not alone in this predicament, as many in our local Polish community face similar challenges regularly.

Currently, flights from East Midlands Airport to Krakow are scarce and expensive, hampering our ability to maintain family ties and cultural connections. The global pandemic further exacerbated this issue, impacting airline schedules and making our family visits a luxury rather than a norm. With a significant Polish population in East Midlands, the demand for affordable and frequent flights to Poland is undeniably high.

We, the members of the East Midlands Polish community, are calling upon Ryanair, Wizz Air, LOT, and easyJet to heed our plea. We ask these airlines to introduce more flights from East Midlands Airport to key Polish cities such as Warsaw, Rzeszów, and Radom. This would not only meet our community's needs but also bring mutual benefits to the airlines in terms of increased passenger numbers and customer satisfaction.

According to the 2011 UK census, the Polish community forms a substantial demographic within the East Midlands, steadily growing over the years. The introduction of more flights can bridge the gap of distance, fostering deeper family connections and facilitating cultural exchange. It will provide a cost-effective solution to a grounding problem that many of us face.
