The purpose of this petition is to introduce meal swipes to the dining halls on Binghamton University's campus.

A major concern with the pay-per-item system currently implemented is students being unable to get three properly balanced meals with the average budget of $8 a day. This system leads to overspending on meal plans or students going hungry due to lack of funds. This issue can be resolved by introducing meal swipes into our current system.

Meal swipes would allow for students to budget meal swipes per day instead of budgeting money per day. This places necessary priority on proper nutrition over an individual's financial situation.  This petition was created by a group of Binghamton University Students who believe that implementing meal swipes will improve student satisfaction and decrease food insecurity amongst students living on campus.
