After decades of silence, on July 11 2021, thousands of Cubans took to the streets in peaceful protests to demand an end to the dictatorship imposed by the Cuban government. The government responded with violence and arrests. Internet access is currently critical for Cuban protesters to organize and to share the ongoing reality with the world. The single (government-controlled) internet provider in Cuba has shut down access to prevent this from happening.

We respectfully request the United States government to help the Cuban people in this hour of need. Please provide them with prompt and free internet access during this crucial time which can shape the future of Cuba. It can be the difference between freedom and oppression.

Luego de décadas de silencio, el 11 de julio de 2021 el pueblo Cubano se tiró a las calles a protestar pacíficamente para demandar el fin a la dictadura impuesta por el gobierno Cubano. El gobierno respondió con violencia y arrestos. El acceso a la Internet es en este instante crucial para los protestantes cubanos, tanto para organizarse como para compartir la realidad actual con el mundo. El único proveedor de Internet (controlado por el gobierno) ha deshabilitado el acceso para impedir que esto suceda.

Respetuosamente le pedimos al gobierno de los Estados Unidos que ayude al pueblo Cubano en esta hora crucial de necesidad. Por favor faciliten pronto y gratis acceso a la Internet, el cual puede en este instante determinar el futuro de Cuba. Puede ser la diferencia entre libertad y opresion
