International Outcry: Afiba Tandoh and Celine Ndudim Lost Amid Police Failures &Corruption

The Issue

This petition calls upon the appropriate authorities to conduct a thorough and swift investigation into the alleged kidnapping of  Afiba Tandoh and Celine Ndudim on 27th April 2024 while visiting Andrew Ochekwo's house in Aba, Abia State. A distress message with a Google location, sent by Afiba to her friend Blessing, serves as strong evidence of their perilous situation. Despite Celine's Elder sister Tessy filing a petition on the 29th of April, there seems to be a lack of progress made in this grave case. Kidnapping is an egregious violation of human rights, and these victims and their families deserve justice. Andrew Ochekwo, the kidnapper, was escorted by a squad from a police station in Umuahia to the police headquarters in Abuja. Shockingly, it took them seven days to complete the journey, during which the suspect was allowed to flee. During this time, Andrew was given access to his phone, laptop, and gun, and was even permitted to drive his car, despite being a high-ranking criminal. After he fled, he was shot on the way by so-called vigilantes. The conduct of the police in Umuahia and Aba is highly questionable and warrants thorough investigation and legal action because the police have all the evidence, including Andrew's phones, laptop, house, car, and bank accounts, and has been taking money from Andrew to cover up for him.
