Cancel IB exams in Egypt

Cancel IB exams in Egypt
The Issue
The country has now reported a total of 218,014 confirmed cases, 12,820 deaths, and 164,368 recovered cases.a
Case numbers began creeping up in March, and Egyptian officials have speculated that a third wave of the virus will hit during or after the month of Ramadan, which began on April 13.
The COVID-19 cases are increasing abruptly day by day, and with examinations coming up, we will increase the risk of infection to ourselves and our families. Many IB students have faced health and educational disruptions during the pandemic. With students suffering from the actual disease, to the mental anguish that came with the chaos of online learning. We demand that the IB start reconsidering whether the exam route is really the best option for Egyptian students. They have already been cancelled in Gulf countries of the Middle East who suffered the consequences of COVID less gravely than Egypt, yet, Egypt is still continuing with the exam route despite the alarming amount of covid cases.
1) schools have been closed for IB students for more than a year and educational centres as well which both makeup more than 50% of our educational process
2) Our exams are locally and internationally recognized , so they don't trully have to be treated as local exams as they arent even in same timings and also Egyptian goverment has no authority in delegating them but exceptionally they have authority to cancel them due to global pandemic circumstances and impacts , which are serious in our nation
3) Local authorities didn't allow local exams for grade 10 and 11 3 days ago
We demand that International Baccalaureate organization allows Egyptian IB schools to take the non exam route respective to how they were negatively impacted by COVID.
