Integrate Translink Compass Card with Apple & Google Wallets

Integrate Translink Compass Card with Apple & Google Wallets
The Issue
Losing the Compass Card is an all too familiar struggle for many of us living in Metro Vancouver. Imagine rushing to catch your SkyTrain or bus, only to find that your Compass Card is nowhere to be found. It’s not just an inconvenience; it can disrupt a day entirely. In comparison, cities around the world are adopting digital transit solutions that simplify commuting and enhance convenience. Metro systems in London, New York, and Sydney have successfully integrated transit cards with digital wallets, minimizing the risk of loss and offering seamless travel experiences.
TransLink BC should follow suit by integrating the Compass Card with Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. This integration would allow us to store and manage our transit passes directly on our smartphones, ensuring we always have them at hand. Mobile wallet integration is not only convenient but enhances the security of our transit cards through multi-factor authentication.
Current statistics show that nearly 75% of Canadians own a smartphone, and an increasing number of transactions occur digitally. However, despite technological advances, TransLink has yet to implement a mobile-friendly solution for its Compass Card. This petition urges TransLink to transition into the digital age to meet the expectations of today's commuters.
By enabling Apple and Google Wallet integration, TransLink can improve customer satisfaction, reduce costs associated with physical card production, and streamline the user experience. It’s time to modernize Metro Vancouver’s public transit system to reflect the needs and lifestyle of its residents.
Sign this petition to urge TransLink BC to integrate the Compass Card with Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. Let’s make commuting in Metro Vancouver more convenient, secure, and in line with the technological advancements utilized in other leading cities.
