In spite of WHO's EUA for Covaxin in November 2021, Germany doesn't consider people administered with Covaxin as vaccinated at all. Its neighbors Switzerland, Austria, as well as several EU countries and even the USA has given recognition and acceptance to Covaxin for travel. 

Germany is one of India's biggest trading partner and a major travel destination for business.  In addition, it continues to be a sought-after academic destination for Indian students for higher studies. Currently, Covaxin is the only approved vaccine for the 15-18 age group in India, many of these would be future students bound for Germany.

This petition requests the Paul Ehrlich Institut to accelerate the process of Covaxin recognition in order to reduce travel inconvenience to hundreds of thousands of beneficiaries bound for Germany in the coming months.
