Dear School Administration,

We, the undersigned parents, guardians, students, and community members, respectfully request the installation of additional shade structures on the school playground.

Our children spend a significant amount of time outdoors during recess, PE, dismissal, and school events. While outdoor play is essential for physical health, social development, and learning, the Texas heat and direct sun exposure can create unsafe and uncomfortable conditions for students and staff.

Adding playground shade would provide many important benefits, including:

1. Protecting students from excessive sun and heat exposure
2. Helping reduce the risk of heat-related illness and sunburn
3. Creating a safer and more comfortable outdoor environment
4. Encouraging outdoor activity even during warmer months
5. Supporting teachers and staff supervising students outdoors
6. Improving the overall student experience and wellbeing

Many schools across Texas have already invested in shaded playgrounds to better support student health and safety. We believe our students deserve the same consideration.

We respectfully ask the school administration to:

1. Evaluate current playground shade coverage
2. Explore options for permanent shade structures, sails, or covered play areas
3. Share a timeline or plan for future improvements
4. Consider including parent/community fundraising partnerships if needed
5. Our goal is to work collaboratively with the school to create a healthier and safer environment for all students.
