I am requesting your support in petitioning for secure fencing around the pre-primary play area at Cavalier Drive School to ensure all children can safely participate in daily activities without the risk of running onto nearby roads or going missing due to inadequate safety measures.

As a parent with a child attending Cavalier Drive School I am deeply concerned about the safety risks associated with the current state of the pre-primary play area. Every day, our children face potential danger due to the lack of secure fencing. The playground, meant to be a haven of joy and exploration, sits perilously close to nearby roads , with lakes not far off. It breaks my heart to think of the risks our young ones face as they play, worries that overshadow what should be carefree moments of fun and learning.

The current situation at the pre-primary play area is inadequate and unacceptable. Observations from both parents and staff highlight incidents where children have wandered off, creating near-miss situations that no parent should have to experience. Playgrounds should be safe environments where children can explore, learn, and grow without the constant fear of them running off into harm's way.

The solution is clear and feasible. We need the immediate installation of a high-quality security fence  needed to enclose the small area that is needed of the pre-primary play area at Cavalier . This fence will not only act as a protective barrier, keeping our children safe from the dangers of nearby traffic, but also give us peace of mind knowing our kids are in a secured environment. Pylons are not secure.

I urge the Cavalier Drive School administration and HRCE prioritize this matter with urgency. Funding for this project can be sourced through school funding. The health and safety of our children deserve to be a top priority, and together, we can make sure that safety comes first.
