On February 20th, 2020, a child of Valley Ranch lost her life after losing control of her bicycle and being struck by an oncoming car on her way to school. A study by Douglas Stewart "Pedestrian guardrails and accidents" shows that installing a high-visibility guardrail reduced accident rates by up to 70%. We, the undersigned, demand that Bexar County install high-visibility guardrails on Ranch View to keep our children safe from harm. Unfortunately, accidents happen all the time, but in order to keep them from happening again and again, we must enact change. Please help us keep our community and our children safe.
