Another Sea Lion in Distress Reported at Channel Islands Harbor

I went down to check on the sea lions today and spoke with a couple who told me they had observed an injured sea lion yesterday and reported it to CIMWI.
I did not personally observe that injured animal, so I want to be clear about that. I’m sharing what they told me because it is another report of an injured sea lion being observed in the same area. They shared these pictures to me of the Sea Lion they said the fishing wire was so tight he couldn’t open his mouth.
This is why I started my petition — not to blame anyone, but to bring attention to the sea lions using Channel Islands Harbor and encourage the appropriate agencies and wildlife professionals to work together to protect them.
I will continue to document what I personally observe and share reports responsibly. If you see an injured, entangled, or distressed sea lion, please report it to the appropriate wildlife professionals and do not approach or attempt to handle the animal.
Thank you to the couple who took the time to report what they saw yesterday. Every report matters.
