The intersection of Columbia Road and North Old Belair Road in Columbia County, Georgia has become increasingly dangerous. Numerous crashes have occurred here over the years, and now a tragic fatality has brought renewed attention to a problem that residents have been raising for far too long.

We respectfully ask the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Columbia County officials to conduct an immediate traffic engineering study and implement the safety improvements necessary to protect drivers and families. These improvements may include a traffic signal, dedicated turn lanes, flashing warning lights, speed management measures, or any other solution supported by engineering data.
