Every morning, as I pull out onto March Road, my heart races. It's not just the daunting 80 km/h speed limit on March Road where crossing and turning feels like a gamble; it's also seeing the haunting near misses and tragic accidents that occur far too frequently at this intersection. As a member of the Diamondview community, with children who commute to and from school on these roads, I am deeply worried about the safety of my family and neighbours.

The intersection of March Road and Diamondview Road has become notorious for its danger. With the population in our area surging and more families settling here, the traffic has increased significantly. Yet, our infrastructure has failed to keep pace with this growth. The absence of a traffic light creates a perilous situation every time someone attempts to cross or join March road. 

Installing a traffic light at this intersection is a simple yet impactful solution. It would regulate the flow of traffic, reduce the likelihood of accidents, and restore a sense of safety for everyone who calls Carp and area home. This is not only a necessary step but also a proactive approach that could save lives. Our community deserves roads that reflect its true value and vitality—safe and welcoming.

It is imperative that we take a stand and urge the local municipal government to address this issue promptly. We cannot afford to wait until another tragedy strikes, and we lose another life to this preventable hazard.
