However, nestled in the picturesque Blucksberg Mountain Estates, our tranquility is constantly interrupted by the rumble and roar of vehicles passing along I-90 at all hours of the day and night. its loud!!
I see sound barriers all across the US and why should or neighborhood have to suffer - especially during the rally.
Blucksberg Mountain Estates is home to hundreds of residents, including families like mine who cherish the natural beauty and quietude the Black Hills are renowned for. However, the increasing traffic volume on I-90 disrupts this peace, affecting not only our quality of life but also our property values and mental well-being. Continuous exposure to high noise levels is not just a nuisance; it has been linked with sleep disturbances, increased stress, and even cardiovascular issues, according to the World Health Organization.
We call upon the South Dakota Department of Transportation to take action by installing a sound barrier along the stretches of I-90 that impact communities like Blucksberg Mountain Estates. Sound barriers are a practical solution that has been successfully implemented across the country in areas facing similar challenges. They can effectively reduce noise pollution, significantly enhancing the living conditions of residents like ours. Consequently, this improvement would help preserve the unique allure of the Black Hills for current residents and future generations.
