The Issue

I am one among the many residents of Hume Court, Hawes Street, Islington, N1, writing out of concern for our elderly and disabled neighbors who find it very challenging to access their homes due to the absence of a lift in our building.

Our building's lack of this critical feature has made daily life extraordinarily tough for those with mobility issues, significantly restricting their freedom and quality of life. Moving around should not be a privilege, but a right for all, regardless of age or physical ability. Given that Islington has an aging population, a significant section of it could be facing similar problems.

We aim to make everyone's living conditions as comfortable as possible, and we believe that the Islington Council plays a crucial role in achieving this goal. We therefore request that the council assesses the necessity and feasibility of installing a lift at Hume Court, Hawes Street, N1, an improvement that would greatly alleviate the difficulties faced by the residents and promote an accessible and inclusive community.

We humbly urge everyone to join this cause and help us advocate for the fair treatment and improved living conditions of all residents. Please sign this petition and endorse our request to install a lift in Hume Court, Hawes Street.
